چکیده

Abstract: Wind load is the key and sensitive for tower structure but national standards tend to think that level stiffness change of cup type transmission tower is uniform along the height. The structure stiffness change of cup type transmission tower was simulated innovatively and found its nonuniformity. The result shows that the structural stiffness uniformly changes along the height when the flow direction parallel to the cross arm while the stiffness of crank arm and cross arm has mutations when the flow direction is vertical to the cross arm. Horizontal stiffness change causes a significant change of wind vibration coefficient. A simulation analysis was performed about wind-induced response of cup-tower to obtain the change rule of wind vibration coefficient. Furthermore, proposed the approximate calculation formula of wind vibration coefficient at crank arm and cross arm.

Effect of Wind on Thermal Performance of Heller Dry Cooling Tower

In a steam power plant, the temperature of the cooling water leaving the condenser for recyclingshould decrease. This is achieved in a cooling tower. The Heller cooling tower does not require waterfor operation, thus, it is a suitable system for use in thermal power plants throughout Iran. Wind is anenvironmental factor that unfavorably affects the performance of a cooling tower. Previous studi...

Wind-induced Vibration Optimal Control for Long Span Transmission Tower-line System

In this paper, tuned mass dampers with optimal parameters for long span transmission tower-line system are investigated. Equations of motion for a structure-TMD system are derived, and the parameters of TMD, stiffness and damping are optimized, respectively. According to a real project, three-dimensional finite element models of both transmission tower and transmission tower-line system are cre...

Analysis of Wind Turbine Vibrations Based on SCADA Data

Vibrations of a wind turbine have a negative impact on its performance. Mitigating this undesirable impact requires knowledge of the relationship between the vibrations and other wind turbine parameters that could be potentially modified. Three approaches for ranking the impact importance of measurable turbine parameters on the vibrations of the drive train and the tower are discussed. They inc...

Effects of Yaw Error on Wind Turbine Running Characteristics Based on the Equivalent Wind Speed Model

Natural wind is stochastic, being characterized by its speed and direction which change randomly and frequently. Because of the certain lag in control systems and the yaw body itself, wind turbines cannot be accurately aligned toward the wind direction when the wind speed and wind direction change frequently. Thus, wind turbines often suffer from a series of engineering issues during operation,...

The Wind-Induced Vibration Response for Tower Crane Based on Virtual Excitation Method

The Dynamics characteristic of Tower Crane is complicated under the wind excitation which complicates the wind-induced vibration response analysis. The random wind-induced response analysis of tower crane is presented based on finite element method and Virtual Excitation Method. The pulsating wind loads are changed into multiple-point correlation stationary excitation. This papers uses Davenpor...
